The Reading of Robin Hood
For our family reading, I've been reading a couple chapters from "Robin Hood" each evening. Tonight, after leaving Peter's room once he was asleep, I heard Naomi's sweet voice reading the book to the boys in their bedroom. Today had been an emotionally dramatic day, and this moment was peaceful...the calm AFTER the storm!

4th of July Bike Ride!
Matt stayed home and painted rooms while the rest of us joined with the Gibsons to have a fun bike ride in the morning!
After that, we joined the White's and Gibson's at the pool for lots of fun swimming, yummy BBQ food, and lots of laughing. We ended with firework watching. It was a very fun day with friends!

Symphony on the Park!
On Sunday, there was a Birmingham Symphony performance for families at the park. I absolutely loved this event!! They had very family-friendly musical selections, which got the kids excited.
We took a picnic dinner, and Peter was so interested in watching the symphony that he couldn't be bothered to turn around while dipping his pita chips in the hummus!

FHE Activity
For tonight's FHE activity, we arm-wrestled Matt. Some of us lasted slightly longer than others, but despite the alternative methods (ie cheating!), he ended up beating all of us.

Busy Summer Days!
Last Thursday, we did morning chores, headed to swim lessons, grabbed a quick lunch at ChikFilA with free kids meal cards the kids had gotten from school, visit taught, and then headed to a friend's pool to spend the afternoon. We're having a full and fun summer so far!

Warming Up!
Peter's Day:
--Eat otter pop while watching Mommy paint with a spray gun
--Play with friend
--Get soaked while playing at water table
--Get bundled in towel and warm up while cuddling with Grandma Jones
--Fall asleep in Grandma's arms
Pretty fun day for our little fella! It would have been more fun for his parents if he had stayed asleep...then he wouldn't have been super ornery after waking back up or up super late because he wasn't tired!!
