I don't normally see family resemblances. But when I looked at the three boys on the couch today, their faces looked all so similar!
Perhaps it was the fresh haircuts eliminating the lighter coarseness of Gabe's hair vs. the darker curliness of Andrew's hair vs. Peter's softer, finer fluff.
Or the lack of distracting clothing.
Or their faces being angled similarly.
Regardless, for once I saw why people know they are brothers without asking!
...and Mommy did so many errands that Peter was completely wiped out by mid-day!!
Andrew loves having superhero stories read to him. The promise of a story sure speeds up the completion of his chores!!
Naomi very much wanted to take me out to eat for my birthday. She had saved up some money and we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. It was super fun, and super thoughtful!
While Naomi participated in Camp Half-Blood (inspired by the Percy Jackson books), the boys played on the playground. The clouds rolled in and we had some impressive thunder, but they stayed out there until the raindrops were really coming down!
Matt stayed home and painted rooms while the rest of us joined with the Gibsons to have a fun bike ride in the morning!
After that, we joined the White's and Gibson's at the pool for lots of fun swimming, yummy BBQ food, and lots of laughing. We ended with firework watching. It was a very fun day with friends!
These guys fight loudly and often, but every now and then they really come through for each other.
This picture was taken after Andrew hurt his foot in the store. Gabe had told him to put his arm over Gabe's shoulder so that Andrew would have support walking through the store.
Andrew had a visit from the Tooth Fairy last night! And he has a pretty handsome smile without that tooth. (You can see his coins from the Tooth Fairy in his hand.)
On Sunday, there was a Birmingham Symphony performance for families at the park. I absolutely loved this event!! They had very family-friendly musical selections, which got the kids excited.
We took a picnic dinner, and Peter was so interested in watching the symphony that he couldn't be bothered to turn around while dipping his pita chips in the hummus!
For tonight's FHE activity, we arm-wrestled Matt. Some of us lasted slightly longer than others, but despite the alternative methods (ie cheating!), he ended up beating all of us.
