Naomi's First Volleyball Games!!

It was so fun to see Naomi out on the court! They are at such an early level that not much actual playing went on, but they'll get there.

Uniforms hadn't arrived yet, so they just asked the girls to try to wear their team color. Uniforms should arrive sometime this week, so next week you can see pictures of Naomi in the real uniform!

Sunday Edition of Building with Legos

Andrew had a specific request: he wanted to build a Lego houseboat. We were pretty excited about the final product!

And here is Peter, wanting to get in on the picture action!

Puzzles with magnets!

A few weeks ago, I participated in an online keyboard teacher conference. It was fantastic!!! There were sessions all day long with about 15 minute breaks in between. A friend brought over a bucket of puzzles and activities for Peter that were brand new to him, so they kept him occupied for longer. This puzzle with a magnetic dump truck was one of them.

Chalk Drawings

I am guessing the pizza place wasn't expecting someone to do a still life drawing on their chalkboard. Naomi had to be convinced to leave!

Sick Fella

This is a very rare site around here, and I think Matt loved it!!

Naomi's Birthday Tea Party!

We had a lovely tea party on Friday to celebrate Naomi's 10th birthday! The kids ate lots of treats and asked for refill after refill of Grandma Jones' sherbet punch! Then they headed to the living room for dancing with Naomi's disco ball the boys gave her as a present. It was hilarious to watch!!

Valentines Ice Cream!

We went to a Valentine's dinner and dance last Friday, and we had a great time! Free childcare was provided, which was equally fantastic. My favorite part was when I specially requested a waltz at the end. We quickly realized hardly any other adults present knew how to waltz. So it turned into a tutorial and a demonstration. Apparently I really like to dance, as long as there are set parameters!

After collecting the children, we got ice cream cones. It is incredibly difficult to convince children to stop eating their ice cream long enough to look at the camera for a picture!

Napkin Origami

We set the table with formal table wear (well, tablecloth and fancier-than-usual dishes) for dinner last week, and I set the kids to work with the cloth napkins and YouTube. They have been very into origami lately, so they had a great time! They made origami roses for all 14 place settings, AND they showed the guests how to make them as well.
(AND they were occupied during the witching hour of pre-dinner, so it was a win for all!)

You Found My Seat!

After washing the couches last night, I left the cushions off to dry. This morning, I put all but one cushion back in place (Peter was lying on the last cushion). Later, Andrew agreed to read a book to Peter. Andrew sat in the middle of the couch's single cushion. Peter wanted the other cushion put back on, but Gabe was leaning on it. I asked Andrew to scoot over, and he did. Peter ran over to the couch, saying, "Thanks! You found my seat!".

Cleaning Machine

Andrew Frederick is truly my buddy when it comes to using cleaning machines. He was excitedly anticipating cleaning the couches all afternoon!

Switching Couches!

We bought a couch set from friends on Saturday. However, when moving the old ones, we heard lots of rattling and thinking. So Matt tipped and shook the couches, and I reached in a hole we made in the bottom covering and pulled out all kinds of things!! This picture is only from ONE of the couches!

New Dentist

Part of moving involves finding a new dentist - a somewhat terrifying idea! Will the new dentist be terrific, mediocre, or awful?? Luckily, we got a recommendation for a pediatric dentist and went for our first time a couple weeks ago.

The first time, Naomi was the only one with an appointment. Matt was still at work, so I had the boys in the waiting room. I was worried about keeping them quiet and entertained during the appointment, so I brought a big bag chock full of entertainment supplies. What a surprise when I didn't need any of it at all! In fact, the kids like the dentist so much, that when I told them Peter had a dental cleaning this morning, Gabe was sad that he couldn't go as well. How's THAT for liking your DENTIST?!
